The Mastermind Youth Foundation is hiring for four seasonal, full-time positions in Sarnia, Ontario, as the organization looks to expand its youth programming. The Sarnia-based foundation, co-founded by engineers Jacques Villeneuve and Sachin Parmar, is seeking candidates for roles in engineering and sports instruction starting June 1, 2026.
The open positions include an electronics engineering design technologist and a mechanical engineering technologist, both paying between $18 and $20 per hour. Additionally, the foundation is hiring a mechatronic engineer with a pay range of $20 to $25 per hour, and a basketball coach at a rate of $17.60 per hour. All roles offer between 35 and 40 hours of work per week.
These hiring efforts are part of the broader Canada Summer Jobs 2026 program, which launched in April to support employment for youth aged 15 to 30 across the country. The foundation is committed to promoting equal employment opportunities for various groups, including youth, newcomers, persons with disabilities, veterans, Indigenous people, and visible minorities.
The foundation, which focuses on robotics, science, technology, engineering, and mathematics education, operates out of the Lochiel Kiwanis Community Centre. Recent growth at the centre was supported by a $50,000 investment from Imperial Oil in March 2026, which allowed for the creation of the LaunchPad Makerspace. The new staff members will support the foundation’s expanding educational programming.
