The Sarnia Police Service has arrested three men in connection with a violent kidnapping and robbery that occurred on the evening of March 23, 2026, in the Cromwell Street area of Sarnia.
The investigation began after a victim was held against their will, driven around, and threatened with weapons. Authorities seized several items from the initial crime scene, including a stun gun, a knife, a hatchet, and brass knuckles. One suspect, 32-year-old Shane Robinson-Young, was arrested on the night of the incident.
The remaining two suspects, 30-year-old Cole Dew and 40-year-old Brennan Erdodi, were taken into custody following a police operation on Parker Street on March 26, 2026. Police observed the residence and arrested Dew after he attempted to flee on an electric bicycle while wearing a disguise. During his arrest, officers discovered 11.96 grams of fentanyl, 7.8 grams of cocaine, a folding knife, a digital scale, and $180 in cash.
Erdodi surrendered to police at 3:30 p.m. on March 26 after an hours-long negotiation. The operation required the deployment of the police emergency response team, a critical incident commander, support staff, and a police service dog named Shadow. Both men remained in the area until their capture, which also involved crisis negotiators.
All three suspects have been remanded into custody. Dew is set to appear in court on March 31, 2026. As the matter is before the courts, no further details regarding the victim have been released by police.
