The Sarnia Hockey Association has officially started its 2025–2026 playoff season for youth players across Sarnia, Ontario. Teams in age groups ranging from Under-11 to Under-18 are playing games throughout March 2026 to determine which teams will finish at the top of their leagues.
These local playoff games are being held at Clearwater Arena and Pat Stapleton Arena. This time of year marks the final stage of the season for hundreds of young athletes and their families after months of regular practice and competition.
While the youth teams are busy with their playoffs, the city’s larger junior hockey clubs are facing a tougher end to their year. The Sarnia Sting are currently working to earn a spot in the Ontario Hockey League playoffs as they try to avoid missing out for a third straight season.
At the same time, the Sarnia Legionnaires are finishing a season in the Greater Ontario Junior Hockey League that has entered the history books for all the wrong reasons. As of March 9, 2026, the team has concluded its campaign without a single victory, finishing with a record of 0-50-0-0 after losing their final game on Sunday.
