The Spruce Grove & District Agricultural Society is inviting the community to celebrate at the upcoming Agra Fair, which will take place from September 11 to 13, 2026. The three-day event will be held at the Spruce Grove Agrena and Central Park, offering free admission for visitors of all ages.
The fair, which originated in 1972 alongside the construction of the Agrena facility, has a long history in the community. After a hiatus of more than 20 years, the event was successfully revived in 2022 to mark the society’s 50th anniversary. It has since become a yearly tradition for the city, which is located 11 kilometres west of Edmonton and has a population of 44,575.
This year’s celebration will feature a variety of attractions, including the popular Mayors Challenge. During this event, Spruce Grove Mayor Jeff Acker, Stony Plain Mayor William Choy, and Parkland County Mayor Rod Shaigec compete in a friendly contest. The society, led by President Teresa Bateman, is also calling for local residents to support the event by signing up as volunteers or sponsors to help manage the festivities.
While general admission to the grounds remains free, visitors will have the option to purchase a Kids Passport for access to select children’s activities. The event continues to receive broad support, following the attendance of Alberta Premier Danielle Smith at the 2024 celebration.
