The Spruce Grove and District Agricultural Heritage Society wrapped up its annual Agra Fair on Sunday, September 13, 2026, after three days of family-friendly activities at Central Park. This year marked the fifth edition of the revived fair, which returned in 2022 after a hiatus of more than 20 years.
The fair featured carnival rides, live music, multicultural performances, a car show, Alberta’s second-largest Bench Show, pancake breakfasts, a petting zoo, a parade, Hero Zone, Rooster Crow and Frog Jump contests, and food trucks. Headline performers included Calgary party band Silly Wrabbit on Friday and Canadian country-pop artist Jordyn Pollard on Saturday.
The Agra Fair has deep roots in Spruce Grove. The event began in 1972, the same year the Agricultural Heritage Society was founded, and ran for 25 consecutive years before a two-decade break. The Society revived the fair in 2022 to mark its 50th anniversary, and it has grown each year since.
Beyond hosting the fair, the Society is known for preserving the historic 1958 Alberta Wheat Pool grain elevator at 120 Railway Avenue. The Society purchased the elevator for $1 in 1995 to save it from demolition, and it was designated a Provincial Historic Resource in 2020. The elevator is the last wooden grain elevator on the CN Rail line west of Edmonton.
