The Spruce Grove and District Agricultural Heritage Society will launch its 2026 market season on May 2 with a free pancake breakfast. The event marks the return of the Market at the Elevator, a weekly community gathering held at the historic site in Spruce Grove, Alberta.
The market will operate every Saturday through September. Located at 120 Railway Avenue, the venue features a 95-foot tall wooden grain elevator built in 1958. The structure was saved from demolition in 1995 by the agricultural society, a non-profit organization founded in 1972, and was officially designated a Provincial Historic Resource by the Government of Alberta in 2020.
Organizers are currently looking for new vendors to join the market this season. Local growers, makers, bakers, artisans, and entrepreneurs are encouraged to apply to participate. The market provides a space for community members to purchase goods while supporting the ongoing maintenance of the historic grain elevator site, which serves as a landmark for the community’s agricultural heritage.
