Spruce Grove Saints forward Declan Waddick has been named the British Columbia Hockey League FortisBC 3 Stars of the Month for March 2026. The 21-year-old center from Tilbury, Ontario, earned the recognition after tying for the league lead with 15 points in eight games, recording seven goals and eight assists to close out the regular season.
Waddick, who stands 5’9″, played his first season with the Saints after the franchise joined the league in 2024. During his debut campaign, he led the team with 25 goals and finished second in total scoring with 52 points across 49 games. His standout performance in March included collecting at least a point in seven of his eight games and a notable seven-point stretch over two contests against the Trail Smoke Eaters and the West Kelowna Warriors.
The forward has found consistent success alongside his linemates, Chris Battaini and Josh Polak. Battaini, who joined the roster following a midseason trade, finished the year tied for 12th in league scoring with 61 points.
The Saints enter the postseason with momentum, carrying a four-game winning streak into the playoffs. The team finished the season fourth in the league’s Interior East Division and is now set to face the Okotoks Oilers in the Alberta Division wildcard series. That best-of-five series begins on April 10, 2026, with the winner advancing to face the top-ranked Brooks Bandits in the semifinal.
This playoff appearance follows a season of growth for the franchise, which moved into the Thompson Family Arena in September 2025. The 1,665-seat facility also served as the host site for the league’s All-Star Weekend this past January.
