The Parkland School Division launched a new program on March 2, 2026, to help students and families in Spruce Grove, Alberta, learn more about healthy eating. The campaign, called Nourish to Flourish, runs throughout the month of March and provides resources to show how food affects physical and mental health.
This year’s theme was created by the Dietitians of Canada to highlight that healthy eating is about more than just the food on a plate. It also focuses on how and where people eat, encouraging families to cook at home and share meals together.
To support local students, the school division is sharing about $75,000 in provincial grant money with community groups like Auggie’s Café, the Parkland Food Bank, and Neighbourlink Parkland. These partnerships help make sure that children have access to nutritious meals both in school and at home.
Parents and caregivers can also attend a special information session called Strong Families on March 11, 2026. This event is part of a larger effort to provide wellness tools and tips for families during the school year.
