The Indigenous Culture Club at Spruce Grove Composite High School in Spruce Grove, Alberta, will host a student-led meeting on March 25, 2026. The gathering begins at 11:10 AM in Room 218 and is open to students and members of the school community. Participants will focus on cultural education and activities that celebrate Indigenous heritage.
The Parkland School Division officially recognizes that its schools are located on Treaty 6 territory. This area includes the traditional lands of the Alexander Cree Nation, Alexis Nakota Sioux Nation, Enoch Cree Nation, and Paul First Nation. The school hosts these club meetings to help create an environment that respects local Indigenous traditions and values.
Community support for Indigenous representation also exists through local leadership. Reverend Shane Goldie, a Cree-Métis, two-spirited ordained minister, serves at St. Andrew’s United Church in Spruce Grove. This leadership helps provide a supportive network for residents and students engaging in these cultural topics.
