Young soccer players in St. Thomas, Ontario have a chance to join a competitive team for the 2027 season. The St. Thomas Soccer Club has opened registration for tryouts, with assessment sessions running from September 12 to October 4, 2026 at 1Password Park.
Boys and girls born between 2009 and 2019, ages 6 to 17, are eligible to attend one of four assessment sessions on the turf field at 355 Burwell Rd. The club runs over 20 competitive teams that travel to play in leagues across Ontario, and this is the entry point for players who want to be considered for a spot.
Families must register online through the PowerUp Sports portal before attending any assessment. The club also requires parents of players in the youth competitive program to complete the Respect in Sport Parent Program, a rule that has been in place since 2018.
1Password Park is a 65-acre sports complex with 36 soccer fields and an artificial turf field. It is also the home of Railway City FC, a new League1 Ontario club that launched in St. Thomas in 2025, giving local players a potential pathway to higher levels of soccer.
This fall’s tryouts are run by the club’s volunteers and are open to players from St. Thomas and surrounding communities in Elgin County. For more information or help with registration, the club office at the Joe Thornton Community Centre is open Wednesdays from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM.
