The Town of Stettler has announced the full lineup for the 2026 Music in the Park series, bringing free live music to West Stettler Park every Wednesday from June 24 through August 26. The outdoor concerts start at 7 p.m. at the park bandstand, with a special Canada Day show by SuperSonic beginning at 8 p.m. and followed by fireworks at dusk.
A new feature this year is the Music in the Park Passport program. Concert goers can pick up a passport and collect stickers at each show from the Spray Park concession, which stays open until 7:30 p.m. After the series ends, bringing a completed passport to the Stettler Recreation Centre or Town office earns one draw entry per sticker for a prize package worth up to $500. The draw takes place September 4.
The 2026 lineup opens June 24 with local group Jazz Guys. On July 1, SuperSonic performs a special Canada Day set at 8 p.m., with fireworks afterwards. The rest of the schedule includes Michael Szabo on July 8, Jamie Allanach on July 15, the Earl Morgan Band on July 22, Jim Baxter on July 29, Frank Peters and Range Patrol on August 5, Doug Robb on August 12, Jed and the Valentine on August 19, and Travis Dolter closing out the series on August 26.
Several performers bring well-known credentials to the Stettler stage. Jim Baxter, a Calgary musician for 35 years, has opened for George Strait, Tom Wilson, and Jerry Doucette. Rising country star Travis Dolter is a 13-time Country Music Alberta nominee who has shared stages with Brett Kissel, Aaron Pritchett, and others. Frank Peters has been writing songs for nearly 50 years and fronts the Red Deer-based country band Range Patrol. Jed and the Valentine, from Edmonton, blend tight harmonies with prairie folk sounds.
West Stettler Park offers walking trails, a playground, and a stocked pond, and the concert series runs as part of the town’s yearly entertainment programming. All shows are free, and residents are encouraged to bring lawn chairs. Full details are available on the Town of Stettler website.
