Kings Playhouse in Georgetown has announced its Fall 2026 lineup, bringing theatre, music and a popular Island food festival to Three Rivers from September through October. The historic venue, located at 65 Grafton Street, is replacing its summer events with a fresh slate that includes the Fleetwood Mac tribute show Gypsy, the annual Taste of Georgetown, a John Prine tribute night, and a concert by Rose Cousins.
The fall season opens September 5 with Gypsy, the premiere Fleetwood Mac tribute act delivering a world-class show of the band’s smash hits. Tickets for the show are $35. On October 2 and 3, the theatre hosts the Taste of Georgetown as part of the PEI Fall Flavours celebration. The food festival offers two experiences: a daytime garden lunch at $60 and an evening multi-course dinner at $110, both designed to showcase local food, music and the unique setting of Kings Playhouse.
Music fans can catch In Spite of Ourselves, a tribute to singer-songwriter John Prine on what would have been his 80th birthday, on October 4. The show features Blair Packham, Kirsten Jones, Bill Craig and two-time JUNO nominee Johnny Max. Tickets are $35. On October 17, Juno Award-winning singer-songwriter Rose Cousins takes the stage. Born and raised on Prince Edward Island, Cousins now lives in Halifax and is known for her folk-pop style. Tickets are $45. The Barra MacNeils, a Cape Breton family Celtic group, close out the season on October 25 with tickets at $70.
Residents can still catch The Ross Family Ceilidh, which is on sale for August 18. The show features siblings Stephanie, Johnny and Danielle Ross performing traditional and contemporary PEI ceilidh music with Celtic and Acadian roots, marking their 20th anniversary in 2026.
Kings Playhouse is Canada’s longest-running theatre, dating back to 1897. The venue was destroyed by fire in 1983 but rebuilt by volunteers and reopened 14 months later. It now seats about 287 people in its main auditorium and includes Dedication Hall, a boardroom and an outdoor deck. Georgetown is part of the Town of Three Rivers, which was formed in 2018 through the amalgamation of seven municipalities including Montague and Cardigan.
Full details and ticket information are available on the Kings Playhouse website. The Taste of Georgetown is presented as part of the PEI Fall Flavours Food & Drink Festival.
