The Waterloo Regional Police Service is investigating after hate-motivated graffiti was found inside the bus terminal on Caroline Street in Waterloo, Ontario. Officers discovered the images on March 26, 2026, and are now looking for suspects involved in the incident.
Investigators have not yet identified who is responsible for the graffiti and are asking the public for help. Anyone with information can contact the police at 519-570-9777, extension 6399, or provide an anonymous tip through Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
This investigation comes as local officials report on hate-motivated crimes in the area. In 2025, there were 224 reported incidents across the region, with about 43 per cent involving property damage or graffiti.
Statistics from the police show that Black and Jewish residents are the most frequent targets of these crimes. Chief Mark Crowell mentioned that high reporting numbers can be a sign that people trust the police to handle these situations, noting that people are stepping up and coming forward when incidents happen.
The bus terminal on Caroline Street is a major hub for Grand River Transit users and connects to local rapid transit. Police are continuing to look into the case under the file number WA26044095.
