Westlock, Alberta, has released its 2025 Annual Report, giving residents a detailed look at how the town spent the past year improving roads, water lines, recreation, and planning for future growth. The report, published June 24, 2026, covers everything from finances to community services.
The document shows how long-term planning and day-to-day work supported the town’s roughly 5,300 residents, local businesses, and newcomers. It includes updates on council’s strategic plan, infrastructure, housing and economic development, recreation, and audited financial statements. Mayor Jon Kramer, who was acclaimed for re-election in 2025, said the report reflects years of steady effort. “This report shows how the work that has taken shape over many years is beginning to deliver meaningful results,” he stated in the release.
Infrastructure remains a major focus. The town maintains 45.63 kilometres of water mains, 56.16 kilometres of sanitary mains, 42.1 kilometres of sidewalks, 10.1 kilometres of trails, and 11 parks and playgrounds. The Community Assistance Bus provided more than 5,600 rides last year.
On the housing front, the report points to growth efforts such as promoting lots in the Southview Subdivision and offering incentives to encourage new homes. These steps aim to keep Westlock attractive for families and workers in central Alberta.
The 2025 report builds on last year’s financial snapshot, which showed the town holding $11 million in reserves with $7.5 million in long-term debt. Full financial details for 2025 are now available in the audited statements included in the report.
