Durham Regional Police are searching for a 47-year-old man last seen at a Whitby mental health facility on June 18, 2026. Delroy Apple is wanted on a Warrant of Committal, and officers are asking the public to help find him but not to approach.
Apple was last seen around 7 p.m. at the Ontario Shores Centre for Mental Health Sciences at 700 Gordon Street. He is described as a Black man, 5-foot-6, with short dark hair and a medium build. At the time, he was wearing a white shirt, grey pants, and multi-coloured shoes.
Police are cautioning anyone who spots Apple to avoid contact and instead call 905-579-1520 ext. 1805. Tips can also be shared anonymously through Durham Regional Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
Ontario Shores is a public teaching hospital that offers specialized care for people with complex mental illnesses. A similar case occurred in April 2026, when police searched for 70-year-old Howard Ross Kelly, who was also wanted on a Warrant of Committal from the same facility.
Police have not indicated any risk to public safety. The investigation continues as of June 23, 2026.
