A 33-year-old Whitby man has been arrested and faces multiple charges following a series of break-ins at a local business. The Durham Regional Police Service confirmed the arrest on April 14, 2026, after an investigation by the Central West Criminal Investigations Branch.
The investigation began after a business near Ashburn Road and Kent Mills Road was targeted three times between April 10 and April 13, 2026. Investigators report that copper wiring, piping, and other parts valued at more than $17,000 were stolen during these incidents. The suspect was taken into custody without incident and was held for a bail hearing.
Dwayne Horace Daley of Whitby has been charged with three counts of break-and-enter, one count of theft over $5,000, and two counts of theft under $5,000. While an arrest has been made, police have not yet confirmed if the stolen property has been recovered.
Authorities are still seeking assistance from the community to help with the ongoing investigation. Anyone with surveillance, dash cam, or cell phone footage from the area is asked to contact Det.
