Local shops and restaurants in Whitchurch-Stouffville, Ontario, reported a rise in sales and community activity following the recent 2026 Wintersong Music Festival. The event took place from January 22 to January 24, 2026, and focused on bringing more people into the downtown area during the quiet winter months.
The festival featured over 100 musical artists performing at more than 15 different venues across the community. Canadian musician Jim Cuddy headlined the performances, which helped draw crowds to local restaurants, bars, and retail stores.
According to Whitchurch-Stouffville Mayor Iain Lovatt, the festival provided a much-needed boost for business owners by bringing serious fun and joy to the town. Many local businesses saw an increase in customers while the music performances were held throughout the weekend.
The festival was founded by Kevin Ker and Heather Cook and is operated in partnership with the Epidemic Music Group. Organizers work with the Warm Hearts Collective to turn the town into a musical hub that supports the local economy and helps maintain community vibrancy during the coldest time of the year.
