The Stouffville Spirit junior hockey team narrowed their playoff series gap in Pickering, Ontario, with a 1-0 win against the Pickering Panthers on March 24, 2026.
Lucas Demiglio scored the only goal for the Spirit with just over five minutes left in the game. Goaltender Hayden Sabourin earned a shutout by stopping all 23 shots he faced and was named player of the game for his performance.
The win brings the best-of-seven series to two games to one in favour of the Panthers. The two teams play the fourth game of the series tonight, March 26, 2026, at 7:30 PM at the Stouffville Arena located at 12483 Ninth Line.
Demiglio scored his winning goal just hours after the Ontario Junior Hockey League named him to its second prospects team for the season. He was assisted on the play by Griffen Boyle and Hudson Armstrong, who was the team’s leading scorer during the regular season.
