The Town of Whitchurch-Stouffville, Ontario, earned provincial recognition for two popular local events, the Stouffville Main Street 5K and the Stouffville Strawberry Festival. These events were named to the Top 100 list by Festivals and Events Ontario during a ceremony on February 25, 2026.
The awards were presented during a gala dinner at the organization’s annual conference to celebrate excellence in community programming. This recognition highlights the town’s ability to host events that bring both residents and visitors into the community.
Mayor Iain Lovatt expressed pride in how these events connect neighbors and support local businesses. Community Services Commissioner Rob Braid also praised the creativity and passion of the staff and volunteers who manage these programs.
The town acknowledged the vital role of the Strawberry Festival Board of Directors and their committee. This group of volunteers partners with the municipality to ensure the festival continues to be a success for the community.
