The Town of Whitchurch-Stouffville, Ontario, has received provincial recognition for two of its most popular community celebrations. The Stouffville Strawberry Festival and the Stouffville Main Street 5K were both named in the Top 100 by Festivals and Events Ontario during an awards gala held in Kitchener on February 25, 2026.
The Stouffville Strawberry Festival is a 42-year-old tradition in the community that first began in 1984. This multi-day event will take place this year from June 26, 2026, to June 28, 2026, and features local activities and food for residents and visitors to enjoy.
The Stouffville Main Street 5K is a newer addition to the town, having launched in 2023. This community race serves as a fundraiser for the Markham-Stouffville Hospital Foundation, which supports local healthcare services. In 2025, the race and the annual Mayor’s Golf Classic combined to raise $330,000 for the foundation.
This recognition places the two events in the top tier of more than 2,500 festivals reviewed by the provincial organization across Ontario. Local leaders expect the awards will help the town attract more visitors, sponsors, and volunteers for the upcoming 2026 festival season.
