The City of Mount Pearl, Newfoundland and Labrador, is looking for new recreation workers to help run programs at the Summit Centre. The city posted the hiring notice on February 22, 2026, to find people for roles such as lifeguards and fitness attendants.

These job openings include aquatic lifeguard and instructors, along with fitness instructor and attendants. The starting pay for an aquatic lifeguard and instructor is about $26.39 per hour.

The City of Mount Pearl Recreation Department is hiring to make sure there are enough workers for the pool, public swims, and community programs on both weekdays and weekends. The current winter and spring session at the centre runs from January 4 to April 2, 2026.

During the Mount Pearl City Council budget presentation in December 2025, officials stated that improving recreation spaces and community safety are top priorities for the year. This hiring push is part of the city’s plan to keep popular local services running without interruptions or cancellations.
