The warning, which also covers Beaumont and Kavanagh, was issued early Sunday morning with a moderate impact level. Residents are being told to watch for potential power outages and damage to roofs, fences, and tree branches.
Drivers using high-sided vehicles should use extra caution because sudden gusts can push these vehicles around on the road. People living in the area are also encouraged to secure any loose outdoor objects that could be blown away.
The weather alert was officially issued at 4:37 AM and comes with a high level of confidence from forecasters. Officials say the strongest gusts will range between 90 and 110 kilometres per hour during the peak of the wind event.
