Several youth teams from the Amherstburg Minor Hockey Association (AMHA) are preparing to travel across Ontario for competitive tournaments starting March 13, 2026. These events give local players in Amherstburg a chance to face teams from outside the Windsor-Essex region to help them improve their skills.
The U11 Select team is traveling to participate in the Bradford Blue and Gold Classic from March 13 to March 15, 2026. During the same weekend, the U15 Select team will be competing in the Clarington March Madness Select Tournament.
While regional competitions represent a significant time commitment for local families who must travel long distances to support the young athletes, the association notes that these events allow players to test themselves against different leagues. The weekend competitions offer an intensive experience that helps with team bonding and player development beyond their regular local schedules.
