Non-profit organizations in Kensington, Prince Edward Island can now apply for provincial funding to support projects that benefit women and girls. The Government of Prince Edward Island opened the application process for the grant program on March 6, 2026, to help local groups improve the lives of women in their communities.
The money is provided through the Interministerial Women’s Secretariat Grant Program. This initiative supports projects that promote legal, health, social, and economic equality for women and girls throughout the province.
Local groups have until April 24, 2026, at 4 p.m. to submit their applications for the funding. According to Barb Ramsay, the Minister of Social Development and Seniors and Minister responsible for the Status of Women, these grants are meant to help dismantle gender biases and strengthen the well-being of the community.
