Student-athletes at Kensington Intermediate Senior High School (KISH) in Kensington, Prince Edward Island, have advanced to the provincial championship brackets for basketball and badminton this spring. The senior boys basketball team recently moved to the provincial level following a successful run in regional competition.
These tournaments are governed by the PEI School Athletic Association (PEISAA), which coordinates sports for schools throughout the province. The basketball team is currently participating in the PEISAA Domino’s Pizza 2026 Senior Basketball Championships, competing for a top provincial title.
Badminton players from the school have also secured their spots in the provincial brackets. While regional qualifiers take place in March, the provincial badminton finals are scheduled to take place later this spring, typically in late April. Both programs provide the opportunity for students to represent their community at the highest level of school competition on the island.
Local residents and fans are encouraged to support the students as they travel for these championship matches. These athletic milestones are a regular part of student life and help build school spirit in Kensington.
The school offers several sports, including basketball and badminton, to help students stay active and engaged. Reaching the provincial level marks a significant achievement for the KISH athletic department and the student-athletes involved.
