The Interlake Community Foundation is now accepting applications for the 2026 Bryan Lefley Memorial Scholarship. Local students in Stonewall, Manitoba, and the surrounding region have until April 30, 2026, to apply for the educational award. This scholarship provides financial support to help area youth cover the rising costs of going to college or university.
The scholarship is available to residents of Stonewall and Teulon, as well as the Rural Municipalities of Rockwood, Rosser, and Woodlands. The foundation has been serving these communities since it was first established in 1994. It uses permanent investment funds to provide grants and scholarships that support local people and community projects.
The Bryan Lefley Memorial Scholarship was created to honour the legacy of a well-known local sports figure. Bryan Lefley was a professional ice hockey player and coach who was born in Grosse Isle. He played in the NHL and in Europe before he passed away in 1997, according to records from Elite Prospects.
Interested students can download the official application form directly from the foundation website. All completed forms must be received by the foundation by the April 30 deadline to be considered for the 2026 award. The foundation encourages all eligible students in the Interlake area to review the requirements and submit their paperwork on time.
