The City of Mount Pearl, Newfoundland and Labrador, is asking residents for their thoughts on a plan to build a new restaurant and drive-through at 629 Kenmount Road. The proposal would add a second main building to a property that already has an approved gas station. Because the developer wants to put two separate buildings on a single lot, the project requires a specific review process by local officials.
A public meeting to discuss the project will take place on April 15, 2026, at 7:00 PM in the Council Chambers at City Hall. Residents who wish to attend or provide comments must register by noon on April 13, 2026. If no one signs up or sends in feedback by that deadline, the meeting will be cancelled.
The City of Mount Pearl notes that while restaurants and drive-throughs are allowed in this highway commercial area, they must follow specific rules regarding traffic and layout. This development is being considered while major road work and infrastructure upgrades continue nearby in the Kenmount Hill area through the rest of 2026.
