Residents of Kensington, Prince Edward Island, who typically receive waste and recycling collection on Fridays will have their service moved to Saturday, April 4, 2026, due to the Easter holiday.
The Island Waste Management Corporation announced that there will be no curbside collection of garbage, recycling, or compost on Friday, April 3, 2026. Households affected by this change are asked to have their materials placed at the curb by 7 a.m. on Saturday.
All offices and Waste Watch Drop-Off Centres operated by the corporation will be closed on Friday, April 3, though they will reopen for the remainder of the weekend. Normal collection services are set to resume on Monday, April 6, with no further interruptions expected.
Kensington residents are served through the East Prince region collection schedule. The Town of Kensington directs residents to check official calendars to confirm their specific pickup dates. The corporation, a provincial Crown entity, manages these services to support the island-wide Waste Watch Program, which has diverted more than 1.3 million tonnes of material from the landfill over the last 20 years.
