The Leduc Recreation Centre will host the Tour Alberta for Cancer Edmonton Training Ride on June 21, 2026. This community event provides an opportunity for local cyclists to gather and prepare for the upcoming main fundraising ride, which will take place this July.
The training ride is organized to support the Alberta Cancer Foundation. The foundation works to improve care for the more than 24,000 Albertans who receive a cancer diagnosis each year by supporting 17 cancer centres across the province. Through the efforts of volunteers and participants, the signature tour has raised over $111 million in its 18-year history.
The main event, known as the Enbridge Tour Alberta for Cancer, is set for July 18-19, 2026, in Strathmore. It features various route distances and has become the largest cycling fundraiser in the province. Enbridge has served as the title sponsor for the initiative since 2010. During the 2024 event, more than 1,500 cyclists participated, helping the foundation surpass a total of $100 million in lifetime funds raised.
Residents interested in participating in the training ride at the Leduc facility, located at 4330 Black Gold Drive, can find more information through the City of Leduc. The event is open to riders of all ability levels who wish to contribute to cancer research and patient care.
