The Town of Three Rivers has finished hiring its seasonal workforce for the upcoming summer season. With several key roles now filled, the municipality is prepared to manage its parks, sports fields, and administrative duties from May through September 2026.
The seasonal hiring process, overseen by Manager of Community Services Dorothy Macdonald, successfully filled spots for gardeners, sports field technicians, and splash pad and park attendants. Each of these seasonal roles offers a pay rate of $18 per hour.
In addition to these seasonal workers, the town has finalized recent administrative appointments. Lauren MacPherson has been selected as the new accounting clerk, following the conclusion of the application process on March 23, 2026. This follows the earlier appointment of Sarah Dixon-Maclean, who was hired as the administrative assistant at the Cavendish Farms Wellness Centre following a recruitment drive that ended on February 6, 2026.
These hiring updates come as the town moves forward under the 2026-27 budget, which was passed in March with no increase to municipal tax rates. According to Chief Administrative Officer John Jamieson, the town projects $5.2 million in total revenue for the year. The municipal government, led by Mayor Debbie Johnston, also recently appointed Danielle Herring as the Deputy Chief Administrative Officer, a position that became effective in October 2025.
The Town of Three Rivers was incorporated in 2018 through the amalgamation of seven municipalities, including Montague and Georgetown. Today, it serves as a central hub for eastern Kings County, Prince Edward Island.
