A local non-profit organization serving Ste. Anne is working to improve transportation for residents after hosting its annual fundraising event earlier this month. Pulford Community Living Services, which operates a thrift store at 41 Arena Road in Ste. Anne, held its Pairings with Pulford 2026 fundraiser on April 10, 2026, to collect money for a new wheelchair-accessible vehicle.
The organization, which supports people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, shared a recap of the event on April 15, 2026. Organizers stated that personal stories shared by individuals who receive support from the non-profit were the focus of the evening. These accounts highlighted how improved access to transportation helps promote independence and provides more opportunities for people in the community.
Pulford Community Living Services has been providing local support since 1986. The organization’s mission is to bring the community together to promote and empower people to live full lives. Those who were unable to attend the fundraiser but would still like to contribute to the goal of purchasing the wheelchair-accessible vehicle can donate by emailing [email protected] and indicating that the funds are for the vehicle.
The event also included a raffle, with winners announced on April 14, 2026. Anyone with a winning raffle ticket is encouraged to contact [email protected] to claim their prize. Planning is already underway for next year, which will mark the 15th anniversary of the annual fundraising campaign.
This year’s event was made possible through the support of several partners, including Assiniboine Credit Union, Birchwood Ford, Maple Leaf Construction, Manitoba Liquor & Lotteries, Pereux Insurance Planning Group, South Sherbrook Health Centre & Pharmacy, and Star Building Materials.
