Three Leduc Cats football teams are set to kick off their spring season this weekend with a series of non-league games against regional opponents on Sunday, April 26, 2026. These matchups serve as the first competitive action of the season for the program, which is operated by the Leduc & District Minor Football Association.
The Leduc Cats U16 Yellow team will take on the Spruce Grove & District Minor Football Association Cougars at 9:00 AM at Clarke Stadium in Edmonton. Following that game at the same venue, the U16 Black team faces the Southwest Edmonton Minor Football Association Mustangs NAVY at 10:00 AM.
Meanwhile, the U16 Female Tackle team will travel to Shouldice Athletic Park in Calgary to face the Calgary Wildcats Football Association at 10:00 AM.
These games are organized under the Capital District Minor Football Association, a regional group that coordinates youth football for Edmonton and surrounding communities. The local football association has served the community for over 39 seasons, providing developmental opportunities for young athletes across the region.
