The Brockville Farmers’ Market officially kicked off its 2026 season on Saturday, May 2, in downtown Brockville on Market Street West. The opening event featured a parade and ceremony attended by local leaders and representatives from The Brockville Rifles, a primary reserve infantry regiment of the Canadian Army.
Market board chair Greg Stainton, who operates Harmony Farm, was joined at the festivities by Mayor Matt Wren and MPP Steve Clark. Mayor Wren noted the opening is a sure sign of spring, expressing his support for the return of the local vendors and the goods they provide to the community.
This year marks a continuation of a tradition dating back to 1832, making the market one of the oldest in Ontario. More than 30 vendors are expected to participate throughout the season, offering a variety of fresh produce, baked goods, crafts, and other locally made products.
The market will operate every Saturday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. through the fall. Additionally, Thursday operations will run from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. between June 21 and September 11.
