According to the job posting, the role is a replacement position, covering shifts when full-time dispatchers are absent. The work involves 12-hour shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, because the Communications Division operates around the clock, every day of the year.
The Brockville Fire Department’s communications team currently has four full-time and four part-time dispatchers who handle emergency calls for 14 fire departments across the region. In total, the Brockville Fire Department has 38 full-time personnel and three part-time dispatchers, operating two fire stations and responding to about 1,000 calls per year.
The department also provides dispatch services to the Municipality of Arnprior under a three-year agreement, which brings in about $50,164.70 in 2026. The agreement runs through 2029.
