Brockville’s arts community received a boost on August 31, 2026, as Rotary Brockville members held a joint club meeting at Arts Hub Brockville in St. John’s United Church on Park Street. The visit highlighted the club’s financial support for the venue’s commercial grade kitchen, a project that will help the hub host weddings and other events.
Pat Markovich, board chair of Arts Hub Brockville, gave Rotarians a tour of the facility, including the recently remodeled kitchen. The new kitchen is a key piece of the hub’s strategy to create more revenue by renting the hall for special occasions.
The kitchen is expected to provide more revenue as the hall becomes available for wedding receptions and other special occasions. The Rotary Club of Brockville provided financial support for the kitchen project.
During the meeting, Todd Noel, director of the Brockville Theater Camp, demonstrated the professional lighting and staging capabilities in the main event area. Members also learned about the history and vision of the arts hub, which has been a cornerstone of local culture since signing a 10-year lease with the church in March 2024.
Rotarian Marilyn Powers presented a guest speaker book to Markovich, which will be donated in her name to the library at Pine View Public School in Athens. Markovich, a local alcohol ink artist and driving force behind the founding of Arts Hub Brockville, has been recognized for her contributions to the community’s arts scene.
Arts Hub Brockville, a registered charity, continues to grow its programming and community impact. The kitchen renovation and event capabilities are expected to bring new opportunities for residents and visitors to enjoy arts and celebrations in the historic church building.
