Classic car enthusiasts and local residents can continue to enjoy the weekly Sylvan Lake Cruise Night, which brings vintage classics, muscle cars, and custom builds to the waterfront every Friday from May through October. The season kicked off May 1. Organized by Red Deer Cruise Night, the events remain a staple of the community summer calendar in Sylvan Lake, Alberta.
The remaining Friday gatherings for May 2026 are set for the 15th, 22nd, and 29th. Each event runs from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM in the parking lot across from Servus Credit Union at 4886 – 49 Avenue. While the event is free for spectators to browse the vehicle displays, participants who bring their own cars are welcome to provide a donation to support the event operations.
To accommodate the weekly gathering, the Town of Sylvan Lake has closed the west end of the Railway Park Promenade parking lot on 49 Avenue every Friday evening. This closure is effective from 5:00 PM to 9:30 PM and will remain in place through September 26, 2026.
According to Visit Sylvan Lake, these weekly shows have become a major draw for the lakeside community. The lake attracts over 1.5 million visitors annually, making it one of Alberta’s most popular recreational areas. The current format of hosting the event every Friday was implemented by the Red Deer Cruise Night team, led by CEO Dave Burden, to provide consistent opportunities for enthusiasts to showcase their vehicles.
