The Brockville Police Service reported a busy month of operations this past April, managing 1,373 calls for service which resulted in 160 traffic-related charges and 135 criminal charges. These figures highlight the ongoing workload for the 46 sworn officers serving the community of Brockville, Ontario.
Throughout the month, officers responded to a variety of incidents across the city. On April 23, 2026, Constable Tyler Harrison rescued an occupant from a smoke-filled home on Brock Street. Both the officer and the resident received medical attention for non-life-threatening smoke inhalation following the event. Additionally, police responded to a break-in at the William Street Tim Hortons on April 30, 2026, where a suspect used a grinder to access safes and steal approximately $1,900 in cash.
The department also managed several public safety concerns, including unfounded bomb threats at the local Walmart on April 26 and April 29, 2026. In other local activity, a 26-year-old resident at the Supportive Cabins Initiative on County Road 2 was charged on April 28, 2026, with uttering threats following an interaction with staff.
These operational updates come as the city manages a total police budget of $11,836,187 for 2026, an increase of 11.78 per cent over the previous year. While the department continues its enforcement efforts, police leadership has noted broader trends in the community, including a rise in property crimes and calls related to mental health, which Chief Mark Noonan has previously linked to addiction issues.
