The Town of Milton is now accepting applications for the 2027 Milton Community Fund, offering approximately $425,000 to local not-for-profit organizations. This funding supports artistic, cultural, and recreational programs and events that improve the quality of life for residents.
The program is financed by proceeds from the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation, which are generated through hosting Elements Casino Mohawk. Since the casino opened in 1999, the town has received more than $155.3 million in total contributions from these gaming operations.
The Milton Community Fund has distributed more than $8.4 million to community groups since it was established in 2001. Last year, the town council approved $536,668 in grants to help 52 local organizations with their various initiatives.
Interested groups have until July 27, 2026, to submit their applications. A volunteer citizen committee will review the submissions, and funding decisions will be announced by January 2027. Organizations that are unable to accept gaming-based funding can reach out to town staff to discuss alternative options, such as the Milton Community Connections Grant.
