Residents in Milton, Ontario, can take advantage of free public transit and should prepare for road closures when the Downtown Milton SummerFest takes place on Saturday, June 6, 2026. The annual festival, hosted by the Downtown Milton Business Improvement Area and presented by BMO Financial Group, will feature entertainment and activities from noon until 8:00 pm.
To help residents travel to the event, Milton Transit is offering free rides on all services, including conventional buses, OnDemand, and Access+ specialized transit. These services will run until 8:30 pm to accommodate those attending the festivities. The free transit initiative is sponsored by MTB Transit Solutions, a Milton-based company specializing in bus repair and refurbishment.
Drivers should be aware that significant road closures will be in effect from 7:30 am to 11:30 pm to accommodate the festival grounds. Main St. East will be closed between Fulton St./Millside Dr. and Brown St. Additionally, sections of James St., Martin St., Charles St., and Commercial St. will also be closed to traffic. Motorists looking for alternative parking can use the Milton Fairgrounds at 136 Robert St., a site owned and operated by the Halton Agricultural Society.
The event will feature three entertainment locations for the public: the Main Stage at the intersection of Main St. and Millside Drive/Fulton St., the Community Stage at Brown St., and a performance area at Charles St.
