The Leduc RCMP is hosting its annual Bike Safety Rodeo on May 23 and May 24, 2026, in Leduc, Alberta. The event will take place from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. both days at the Leduc RCMP Detachment at 4119 50 Street.
The rodeo supports a province-wide partnership between the Alberta RCMP and Sport Central, an Edmonton-based charity that collects, repairs, and redistributes sports gear to children aged 4 to 17 in families experiencing financial hardship. Since the partnership launched in 2025, detachments across the province have helped distribute more than 2,600 pieces of equipment to local schools, community leagues, and families.
The Bike Safety Rodeo features interactive safety stations including obstacle courses, helmet checks, bike maintenance tips, and hand signal instruction. In addition, the RCMP contributes to the cause by donating unclaimed seized bicycles from detachments to Sport Central for redistribution.
The event also includes a community barbecue with all proceeds supporting the Boys and Girls Club of Leduc as they work to expand their local youth centre. Those interested in further activities can also take part in the Kids Festivus of Gravel cycling race, which is set to follow the rodeo on Sunday, May 24, at Telford Lake.
