Leduc County residents can start submitting their best photos from June 1 for the annual We ❤️ Local Art Contest. This year the contest is fully digital for the first time, and nine winning photos will be displayed at Leduc County Day on August 22, 2026.
Photos can be taken with any type of camera, from a DSLR or smartphone to a film camera. The contest is open to anyone living in Leduc County, Beaumont, Calmar, Devon, Leduc, Thorsby, Warburg, or New Sarepta. Submissions close on June 30.
Photos can be entered in three categories: nature or wildlife, people or portraits, and everything else. Participants will compete in one of three age groups: youth under 19, adults aged 19 to 54, and adults 55 and older. AI-generated images will not be accepted, and youth participants aged 12 to 18 need a parent or guardian to sign their entry form.
Winning photographers will get their work printed on canvas and gifted to them after the event. The prints will also be shown on the county’s Facebook page. According to the contest notice, the county’s Parks and Recreation department runs the program.
