The Chestermere Regional Community Association is holding its yearly meeting for members on June 24, 2026 at 6:30 p.m. in the CRCA Boardroom. It is a chance for people who live in Chestermere and nearby communities to see how the rec centre is doing, learn about planned repair projects, and consider changes to how the association is run.
The meeting agenda and several supporting documents are already posted on the CRCA website. These include minutes from the 2024 AGM, proposed updates to the association’s bylaws, approved financial statements for 2024-2025, a list of board nominations, and a detailed 2025 Building Condition Assessment report. Anyone who uses the rec centre can review these before the meeting.
Visitors to the rec centre will notice some big repair projects underway. The association has approved over $649,000 in improvements for 2025-2026, covering parking lot repairs, roof work, a lift, and other upgrades that keep the building safe and functional. These projects are partly funded by a provincial grant of $222,900.
The rec centre is the main place for recreation in the area, attracting more than 150,000 visits each year from Chestermere, Rocky View County, and nearby hamlets. Many families in youth sports, including Chestermere United FC, use the facility regularly. The soccer club operates out of the centre at 201 West Chestermere Drive and serves kids from Chestermere and surrounding places like Langdon, Indus, Conrich, and Strathmore.
The association’s volunteer board of directors has two empty seats. Current board members are President Janice Redmond, Vice-President Andrea Fleming, Treasurer George Hotson, and Secretary Ellen Neary, along with Taylor Boucher, Reg Avery, Phil Mateshaytis, and Don Lemna. Anyone interested in serving on the board can find a nomination form on the CRCA website.
