Chestermere residents looking to sharpen their artistic skills can take part in two new evening classes being offered by the Chestermere Fine Art Guild this July in Chestermere, Alberta. The sessions, which focus on abstract art techniques and the principles of composition, will run at the Synergy Building and are open to artists of all experience levels.
The first class, Abstract Art, is set for Monday, July 6 from 7 to 9 p.m. It promises to teach participants the steps to creating their own expressive abstract pieces. A second evening class, Composition in Art, follows on Monday, July 20, also from 7 to 9 p.m., where an experienced guild member will guide attendees in crafting art with pleasing arrangement and structure.
The classes expand on the guild’s regular Monday evening lineup, adding fresh topics to its ongoing schedule. The non-profit group, which has been a fixture in the community since 2002, holds weekly gatherings that include Thursday afternoon painting sessions from 1 to 4 p.m. and Monday evening classes at 7 p.m. New members are always welcome to drop by.
Annual membership in the guild costs $70 and provides access to art sessions, discounted workshops led by professional artists from across Alberta, and a spot in the annual art show and sale. The July classes are part of the guild’s commitment to nurturing creativity and giving local artists a supportive environment to develop their craft.
The Synergy Building, located at 101-340 Merganser Drive, is operated by the Synergy Youth and Community Development Society and serves as a community hub available to non-profit groups. More details on the July classes and membership can be found on the guild’s website.
