Didsbury families with school-age children can mark their calendars for June 19, 2026, when the Didsbury Municipal Library opens registration for its popular Summer Learning Club.
This free program, which runs through the summer months, is designed to keep kids engaged with reading and learning activities while they’re out of school. It’s part of the national TD Summer Reading Club, Canada’s biggest bilingual summer reading program, delivered by more than 2,200 public libraries across the country.
The club includes reading challenges, activities, and incentives to encourage continued learning. It’s open to all school-age kids, and no special equipment or prior experience is needed. Parents can sign up starting June 19 at the library or through its website.
This year’s program is supported by stable funding from Mountain View County, which approved $45,641 for the library in its 2026 budget. The library serves about 1,900 active borrowers, with a quarter of them living in Mountain View County. In 2023, the library saw over 38,000 visits and issued 304 new cards, showing strong community engagement.
