Film lovers can now buy tickets for the official after party of the Gimli International Film Festival, set for Friday, July 24, 2026 at the historic Gimli Dance Pavilion.
The party is co-presented with Real Love Winnipeg and will feature a live set from Winnipeg indie-rock band Fencing, followed by late-night DJ sets from Mr. Brett. It gives festival-goers a chance to cap off a day of film screenings with music and dancing just steps from the shores of Lake Winnipeg.
This year marks the 26th anniversary of the Gimli International Film Festival, which runs July 22 to 26. As Manitoba’s largest film festival and the largest rural film festival in Canada, it draws thousands of people to the lakeside community each summer.
The Gimli Dance Pavilion itself is a local landmark. Built in 1911, it was designated a municipal heritage site in 1997 and is one of only two historic dance halls still operating in Manitoba. Its wooden truss ceiling and original polished dance floor have made it a gathering place for more than a century.
Tickets for the after party are available now through Showpass. Anyone looking for more details or to purchase a spot can visit the festival’s website.
