Rimbey’s 59th annual community parade will make its way down Main Street on Saturday, July 11, 2026, starting at 11:00 a.m. The event, hosted by the Town of Rimbey, is part of the Rimbey Rodeo weekend, a longstanding local tradition organized by the Rimbey Exhibition Association.
Anyone wanting to join the parade has until Wednesday, July 8 to register at no cost. Check-in runs from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the High School Football Field, and the parade begins and ends at the Public School Fields. The registration form and a parade map are available on the Town of Rimbey website.
Parade entries can include floats, decorated vehicles, antique cars, horses, and agricultural displays. Organizers have outlined safety rules: candy must be handed out by walkers, not thrown from vehicles, and a three-metre distance must be kept between participants and spectators. The parade committee can turn away any entry deemed unsafe.
The parade kicks off a full day of rodeo activities at the Co-operators Agrim Centre on the Rimbey Agricultural Grounds. The Rimbey Rodeo runs July 10 to 12, with admission at $10 per person and free entry for children six and under. The weekend includes Central Alberta Rodeo Association performances, a slack event, food trucks, vendors, dry camping, and beer gardens.
On Saturday evening, a youth dance starts at 7:00 p.m. with $10 admission, while children 12 and under get in free. A pancake breakfast sponsored by Evergreen Co-Op is set for Friday morning from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.
