More than 200 people came together in Ste. Anne, Manitoba, on July 10, 2026, for the annual picnic hosted by Pulford Community Living Services. The event brought together employees, supported individuals, and their families for a day of celebration and connection.
The picnic included activities like water tattoos and rock painting, along with live music by Music Therapist Marcie Garbrandt and magic performances by Evan Morgan. Costco Business Centre contributed toward the food, helping make the gathering a success.
Pulford Community Living Services has supported people with intellectual and developmental disabilities in Manitoba since 1986. The organization offers person-centered services including supported independent living, residential care, day programs, and family support. The picnic is one way Pulford brings the community together to celebrate inclusion and belonging.
The event comes at a time of renewed attention on disability services in Manitoba. On June 16, 2026, a report called for a complete overhaul of adult disability services in the province. The provincial government responded by including over $18.6 million in increased funding for disability services in the 2026 budget.
Pulford also operates a second-hand store in Ste. Anne at 41 Arena Road, selling gently used clothing, furniture, and household items. Proceeds go into an endowment fund to support the organization’s work.
