A stretch of Chaytors Road in Conception Bay South will close next week to allow crews to upgrade underground water and sewer lines. Starting Monday, July 20, 2026, the road will be shut in both directions between the Topsail Road intersection and Chaytors Place for about two weeks.
According to the Town of Conception Bay South, the closure is needed to support ongoing infrastructure work. Through-motorists are asked to use Chamberlains Road as a detour during construction.
The road will remain open to local residents, emergency vehicles, and anyone heading to the Chamberlains Park parking lot. Drivers in the area should expect delays and plan extra travel time.
This project is part of a $6.8 million investment by the federal, provincial, and municipal governments announced last February. The money is being used to extend water and sewer services to meet the needs of a growing community. Mayor Darrin Bent said earlier this year that the town wants to keep housing opportunities strong for new families and residents who want to stay.
The Town of Conception Bay South says residents can sign up for its resident alert system to get real-time updates on the closure and other municipal news.
