A developer wants to bring a new grocery store and fitness centre to the Derry Heights Plaza at Derry Road West and Bronte Street South in Milton, Ontario. FCHT Holdings (Ontario) Corp filed a zoning change application on July 10, 2026, to add two buildings to the west side of the shopping centre site.
The proposal includes a one-storey building with space for multiple retail stores, covering about 826 square metres. A larger two-storey building would house a grocery store and a fitness centre, with a combined floor area of roughly 7,223 square metres. The plan also calls for realigning the drive-through lane at the existing Tim Hortons on the property.
The Town of Milton has not yet made a decision on the application. The project is now being reviewed by town departments and outside agencies. A public meeting will be held later, giving residents a chance to look at the plans and share their thoughts, though a date has not been set.
The development site sits in Ward 1, which is represented by Town Councillor George Minakakis and Regional Councillor Colin Best. Milton continues to see rapid growth, with new businesses and jobs moving into areas like the Derry Green Business Park.
