St. Thomas, Ontario is set for a muggy Tuesday with a risk of a thunderstorm before things clear up by midweek, according to Environment Canada.
The forecast calls for cloudy skies, a 40 percent chance of showers, and a risk of a thunderstorm this morning and early afternoon. High temperatures will reach 27 Celsius, but the humidity will make it feel more like 35. Winds will come from the north at 20 kilometres per hour.
At the London International Airport at 11 a.m., conditions were already cloudy with a temperature of 21.2 Celsius, humidity sat at 90 percent, and the humidex made it feel like 28.
There are no active weather alerts for the area right now, but recent weeks brought heat warnings and severe thunderstorm watches to southwestern Ontario. In late June, tornado warnings were issued for communities between London and Windsor as a storm brought heavy rain and strong winds.
The unsettled weather will not stick around long. Wednesday will bring mainly sunny skies and a high of 26 Celsius. Sunny days are expected Thursday and Friday, with highs reaching 28 Celsius both days.
